Lesson Three: English Language Nouns
A:Definitions:
1. Anoun is a name of a person ,a thing or , an animal

يعنى اسم اى شخص او اى شئ او اى حيوانNounالمصطلح النحوى
A proper Noun is a name of a person such as Mohammed
or a name of a continent such as Africa or a name of a country
such as Sudan or a name of a state such as Khartoum or a name of a city
such as Omdurman/Makka. Remember all proper nouns start with CAPITAL LETTER
مصطلح فيعنى علم اى اسم خاص لشخص محدد مثل "محمد" او خاص بقارة محددة

او اسم خاص بمدينة محددة مثل "امدرمان" او قارة محددة مثل "افريقيا"وهكذا...يجب ان نتزكر ان كل
Capital Letter الاعلام تبدا بحرف كبير
بغض النظر عن موضعها بالجملة
also all proper nouns do not have plural
A common noun: is a name that iscommon in other words can be used among all
persons,among all animals or among all things
B:Nouns Types In English Language:
تنقسم الاسماء فى اللغة الانجليذية من حيث العد الى اثنين اسما معدودة واسما غير معدودة
Nouns in English Language are devided into two types in relation to counting
Countable Nouns and Noncountable Nouns
الاسماء المعدودة هى التى يمكن عدها اى لها مفرد وجمع
Countable Nouns are SUCH AS
Schoolمدرسة,bookكتاب,penقلم,studentطالب…etcالخ
اNonCountable Nouns are such as:
ما الاسماء غير المعدودة هى التى لايمكن عدها
وتعامل نحويا معاملة الاسم المفرد و من امثلتها:
Waterماء,sugarسكر,inkحبر,oilزيت…etcالخ
Countable Nouns are devided into two types
تنقسم الاسماء المعدودة الى نوعين وهما:
Singular Nouns اسماء مفردة and Plural Nounsاسماء جمع
من اهم اوجه الاختلاف بين اللغة الانجليزية واللغة العربية ان الاسماء فى اللغة العربية
تنقسم الى ثلاثة اقسام اسماء مفردة و مثنى وجمع
ولكن فى اللغة الانجليزية فالامر مختلف
كل الاسماء المعدودة تنقسم الى اسماء مفردة وجمع
Singular Nouns are such as:الاسماء المفردة مثل
Boyولد ,girlبنت ,manرجل ,boxصندوق ,wifeزوجة …etcالخ
Plural nouns are such as:اما الاسماء الجمع فهى مثل
Boysاولاد ,girlsبنات ,menرجال ,boxesصناديق ,wivesزوجات …etcالخ
There are five ways of changing countable nouns from singular to pkural
First: By adding ‘s’ at the end of the singular noun
Second: By adding ‘es’ at the end of the singular noun
Third: By changing some letters of the singular noun
Fourth: If the singular noun ends in ‘f’ or ‘ef’ replace them by ‘vies’.
Fifth: If the noun ends in ‘y’ and not preceded by vowel letters replace it with
‘ies’ but if the ‘y’ preceded by vowel letter just add ‘s’
